Canter Away Current Fall 2024

Crystal lives in Calgary, with her husband, Danny. Together they own and operate two businesses: Carousel Stables, a training and coaching facility, as well as DK Saddlery, which boasts a full line of fully adjustable saddles.

Crystal has been training and coaching for the past 40 years, and has competed in many disciplines, winning hundreds of Championships. She has also coached students who have gone on to win national and international awards.

She has been on the Canadian national dressage team and, in 2011, won a silver medal at the Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Crystal is an NCCP Dressage High Performance coach and has been Licensed with Equestrian Canada since 2004. She enjoys coaching all levels of both the English and Western disciplines.

Crystal is thankful that our provincial and national equestrian governing bodies have developed the coaching programs. She feel this is important to continue to grow the knowledge of current coaches and give new ones a place to seek training. She says the coaching program is most beneficial to the general public of equine owners as they have a place to check credibility in our industry.

Canter Away Current rewards coaches who remain active by having their Coach Status issued (first aid, certificate of insurance, concussion training, Prevention of Maltreatment in Sports training, letters of reference, background check, and vulnerable sector search up-to-date) and NCCP Professional Development Points completed and updated.
