Effective November 1, 2026, AEF’s insurance partner, Acera Insurance, will begin operating under the Navacord name.

While members will begin seeing a new name and branding, the insurance coverage, optional products, equine expertise and service available through AEF membership are not changing as a result of the rebrand.

What does this mean for AEF members?

For most members, very little will change.

AEF members will continue to have access to the insurance coverage included with their membership, as well as optional insurance products available for purchase. Members may begin seeing the Navacord name on communications, documents and other insurance materials previously branded as Acera Insurance.

There is no action AEF members need to take because of the name change.

The same equine insurance expertise

For more than 25 years, the Acera Insurance equine team has provided specialized service to Canada’s equine community. Under the Navacord brand, that experience will be supported by the resources of one of Canada’s largest insurance brokerage, employee benefits and wealth advisory firms.

“While our name is changing, our commitment to clients, partners, and the broader equine community remains the same. This will be a seamless transition, preserving the trusted service, expertise, and industry relationships our clients value while strengthening our ability to meet their evolving needs.”

– Michael A. King, Director, Equine Insurance

Members with questions about their insurance coverage or optional products can continue to contact their usual insurance representative.

The takeaway for AEF members is simple: a new name, with the same trusted equine insurance expertise and service.
