The Learn to Drive Program provides an orderly set of lesson plans to prepare the beginner Driver with a suitable horse for their first drive. Methods used to teach Drivers will be consistent with EC Coaching principles, designed for safety, welfare of the animals, and in a format that is easy to learn, easy to remember and in a manner consistent with the Coaching Code of Ethics.

This manual is published by Equestrian Canada for the Learn to Drive Program. It is intended to be used:

For the beginner Driver starting to drive a suitable lesson horse
As a curriculum for Drivers wishing to follow an orderly progression of lesson plans
As a plan to teach the basic driving safety, develop self-confidence, and prepare the Driver for his or her first outing
As a record of achievement.
