The Alberta Equestrian Federation (AEF) is proud to congratulate Kim Scott on being awarded funding through AEF’s Individual Funding Program, which supports members who demonstrate commitment to growth, education, and leadership within Alberta’s equestrian community.

Supporting the development of Alberta’s equestrian leaders

AEF’s Individual Funding Program exists to provide financial support to members pursuing opportunities that enhance their knowledge, skills, and contributions to the sport. Funding is available for athlete, coach, and official development, as well as educational clinics and certification opportunities that align with the AEF’s vision, mission, and values.

Applications are accepted twice annually, between January 1 to April 30 and June 1 to September 30, and are assessed based on membership standing, volunteer contributions, and demonstrated impact within Alberta’s equestrian community.

“We’re proud to support members like Kim who are committed to advancing their skills and giving back to the equestrian community,” said Sonia Dantu, Executive Director of the Alberta Equestrian Federation. “Her dedication to becoming a knowledgeable, fair, and community-minded official reflects exactly what our funding programs are designed to encourage: continued learning, excellence, and the betterment of equestrian sport in Alberta.”

Celebrating 2025 recipient: Kim Scott

Funding recipient Kim Scott exemplifies the values of professionalism, education, and community leadership that AEF aims to foster. Kim recently attended the EC Dressage Judge’s Clinic in Maple Ridge, BC, gaining invaluable insight and training that will benefit Alberta’s equestrian community for years to come.

“I am truly grateful to be part of this fantastic community of equestrians,” Kim shared. “AEF’s dedication to investing in the education of officials is immensely appreciated. The knowledge and connections I gained at the EC Dressage Judge’s Clinic in Maple Ridge are invaluable. Funding provided through the Individual Member Funding Program makes it easier for new judges like myself to continue our education in order to provide quality judging at the grassroots level.”

“It is wonderful to witness how AEF supports its members through these programs, with the goal of continually growing and developing the equestrian community here in Alberta. I am excited about the opportunity to give back and support every rider who comes down my centre line in the future.”

Encouraging growth and giving back

Through the Individual Funding Program, AEF continues to invest in Alberta’s equestrian community by empowering members to pursue meaningful educational experiences and to give back through leadership, mentorship, and service.

Kim’s commitment to education and fair play reflects the spirit of the program and the Federation’s mission to support safe, inclusive, and sustainable equestrian sport across Alberta.
