Individual Funding Program empowers members like Terri to advance their education and strengthen Alberta’s equestrian community.

The Alberta Equestrian Federation (AEF) is delighted to congratulate Terri Martin on being awarded funding through the AEF Individual Member Funding Program. This program supports AEF members who are actively pursuing opportunities that enrich their knowledge, elevate their skills, and strengthen Alberta’s equestrian community at the grassroots level.

Supporting Education, Growth, and Leadership in Equestrian Sport

AEF’s Individual Member Funding is designed to empower athletes, coaches, and officials by providing support for:

  • Athlete development – including fundamental clinics and educational courses
  • Coach development – such as training, certification pathways, and mentorship
  • Officials’ development – continuing education to uphold strong, fair, and consistent standards across the sport

These initiatives align with AEF’s ongoing commitment to fostering safe, inclusive, and development-focused equestrian sport throughout the province.

Celebrating Recipient Terri Martin

As an active coach, mother, and lifelong learner, Terri Martin demonstrates what it means to uplift her community through education and passion. Terri recently participated in the NCCP Competition Coach Certification Cohort, a program that brings developing coaches together in a supportive, collaborative learning environment.

Terri shared her appreciation for this funding support:

“I am so thankful for the opportunities that the AEF community has provided to both myself and my students. The NCCP Competition Coach Certification Cohort has been an amazing opportunity for individuals such as myself to come together and learn in a safe and supportive environment. As a mother of twin toddlers, trying to balance life, teaching, and a full-time job, the Competition Cohort sets us up for success while still allowing the ability to balance the other aspects of life outside of our passions.”

“The knowledge I have been able to share with fellow coaches and instructors along with the Coach Developers has been invaluable. Working and growing grassroots clients is incredibly rewarding, and the AEF scholarship fund has allowed me to work toward my certifications without the worries of the financial burden that comes along with it. I look forward to furthering my equestrian education and promoting the opportunities available to my students.”

Investing in Alberta’s Equestrian Future

Terri’s commitment to education and community leadership reflects the heart of AEF’s mission. By supporting members like Terri, AEF continues to strengthen coach development across Alberta, ensuring riders at every level benefit from trained, knowledgeable, and caring professionals.

AEF congratulates Terri Martin on her achievements and looks forward to her continued contributions to Alberta’s equestrian community.
