Member Insurance Coverage
Each individual adult and youth membership comes with insurance coverage and options to purchase add-on insurance products. Member insurance is provided by Acera Insurance.
Access to Competitions
We administer the Wild Rose Competition Program, a provincial-level competition/show program for the Alberta equestrian community. The program offers the structure to maintain fair, safe, credible, and affordable competitions and shows.
Alberta Bits Magazine
Alberta Bits is AEF’s official member magazine, published three times a year (Spring, Summer, Fall/ Winter), and available to all members. Alberta Bits is distributed throughout Alberta with news and events on behalf of recreational, sport, industry, and educational sectors of the Alberta horse industry.
Annual Awards
Annual Awards honour outstanding deserving members’ achievements within Alberta’s equine community. These awards acknowledge those who stand out and have made a positive impact on the equestrian community.
Coach & Instructor Certification
We administer the Equestrian Canada (EC) National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP). The goal of this program is to ensure that the equestrian experience remains safe and enjoyable for all participants, horse and human, and to develop excellence in horsemanship.
Scholarships, Bursaries & Funding
Funding opportunities are available to those pursuing education opportunities or participating in specific equestrian disciplines.
Health & Dental Coverage
Through our partnership with Navigate Benefit Solutions, members can purchase personal health and dental coverage for you and your family, travel and out of country coverage. Group benefit packages are also available for business members.

Save on Your Membership Through Our Referral Program
Refer brand new members to the AEF and receive a credit of $5 per referral. Credits go toward the cost of the next calendar year’s membership.
To receive referral credits, the new member must submit your last name along with your AEF membership number when signing up. This is a great way to get a free membership!
