We believe that strong leadership is the backbone of safe, inclusive, and thriving equestrian communities. That’s why we’re proud to support the Bow Valley Equine Adaptive Association (BVEA) through our Club Funding initiative, which helps grassroots organizations build capacity and enhance impact.

This spring, three dedicated BVEA board members attended a nonprofit board training day in Calgary, made possible through AEF’s financial support. The day was packed with practical, forward-thinking workshops tailored to nonprofit governance and development. Topics included:

  • Crafting clear, up-to-date social media policies
  • Leveraging artificial intelligence to increase nonprofit efficiency
  • Embracing fiscal responsibility as a board
  • Volunteer retention strategies (a challenge we all understand!)
  • The power of storytelling and marketing to deepen community ties.

This training day didn’t just fill notebooks—it sparked conversations, strengthened leadership confidence, and set a course for enhanced outreach and operations at BVEA. As a small but mighty organization committed to adaptive equine programs, BVEA’s growth means more riders supported, more volunteers engaged, and more community connection through the healing power of horses.

We’re honoured to align with organizations like Bow Valley Equine Adaptive Association. Their passion and resilience remind us why we do what we do—and why it’s so important that Alberta’s equestrian organizations, big and small, have access to the tools and training they need to flourish.

Thank you, BVEA, for your vision, dedication, and service to the equine community. We’re proud to support your journey and look forward to the stories you’ll continue to write.
