The individual membership is available to everyone (subject to parental/legal guardian consent for minors)
2015 Family Membership - $110
The Family Membership is limited to parents and their minor children (17 years and under as at January 1) residing at the same address - 3 or more people required (one must be a parent or legal guardian) Each family member is issued a separate membership number and card.

Benefits of Individual or Family Membership with the AEF
All AEF members automatically receive $5,000,000 Personal Liability Insurance to protect you against most lawsuits for Bodily Injury or Property Damage arising out of the personal ownership or use of a horse, or arising out of your participation in most equine related activities; personal liability includes non-commercial care, custody and control of up to a maximum of 3 non-owned horses, maximum $10,000 per horse, $50,000 per accident, liability insurance for transporting non-owned horses, subject to a limit of $10,000 per horse, $50,000 per accident. Liability Insurance coverage does not respond to the commercial use of horses or the commercial transportation of horses. Your basic membership also includes $30,000 Accidental Death and Dismemberment coverage arising from equine-related activities (under the age of 90). Member Referral Program
Refer a NEW AEF Member and receive a $5.00 credit toward your next year's membership fees (up to a maximum of 3 referrals per calendar year for a total of $15.00 per individual or family)! Simply ENSURE the NEW member indicates your name and AEF Number on their membership application form or through online renewal.
Scholarships and Education
The AEF provides access to scholarships for youth, towards education and athlete development.
The AEF is a source of education; we offer Rider, Instructor, Coaching and Competition Official certification programs as well as providing general educational workshops and seminars.
Members receive our magazine "Alberta Bits" four times per year.
The AEF provides access to programs designed for recreational and competitive riders, drivers and vaulters
- Ride and Drive is an incentive Program offered to members for recreational riders/drivers to earn rewards
- Live Outside the Box Program is designed to reward kids for staying active during the summer, and away from the tv, computer and game console.
Equine stewardship in action. Member-driven fund providing financial support for projects to maintain, develop and improve equestrian access to Alberta trails.

Information and Representation
Members can obtain information on everything from where to take lessons to where to go trail riding.
The AEF represents our members at all levels of Government, and with AFAC, AVMA and AB Trail Net. We are actively involved in trail issues: development, maintenance and more importantly, keeping them open for equestrian use.
